Epic Games is giving away Grand Theft Auto V for free until May 20, 2020. It’s been a long time since I played GTAV on my PlayStation 4. I thoroughly enjoyed it there but now thanks to Epic Games, I can replay it one day at 60FPS. Considering how popular this game is, I wonder if it will make its way the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X via backwards compatibility or an official patch that will enable higher a resolution and/or framerate
I fell off the XCOM train. I loved XCOM: Enemy Unknown but didn’t get in on XCOM 2 due to its rocky launch and now I’m letting XCOM: Chimera Squad slide on by as Gears Tactics occupies that strategy spot in my heart. XCOM: Chimera Squad looks neat; I’m all for studios trying out new ideas for their franchises in these small spin offs. However, when I heard this was taking place after XCOM 2, I felt the need to play XCOM 2 first.
It took longer than we wanted but Deal Price Tracking was finally installed. This feature is ideal for people who are waiting for deals to become cheaper.
When you track/subscribe to a deal, you will be notified via e-mail if the deal falls below your desired price. All you have to do is click “Track Price”, enter an email address, and enter the price you are looking for.
Please Note: This feature is currently in beta. Please report any issues to email@example.com or leave a reply on this post.
Why can’t I track deals for all games and all stores right now?
GameDealsCanada has nearly 800 deals in its database and for legibility, ease of use, and ease of operation, we chose to only display active deals. So for now, you will only be able to start tracking active deals.
Will my deal continue to be price tracked when it is no longer visible on the Deals page?
Yes. Your price tracking subscription will notify you when it goes on sale at your desired price.
Deal subscriptions will be removed when the retailer no longer carries the item or the product has been decommissioned. (ie: annual sports titles)
Gears of War and XCOM? That sounds very promising. It sounds like a match made in heaven and I’m all for it. I have access to it via Xbox Game Pass for PC but I haven’t found the time to try it yet. It sounds like it doesn’t have much of a strategic layer like base building or R&D though. That’s a bit of a bummer I’m also very open to the idea of new approaches the for Gears of War franchise.

Persona 5 was a great game. I don’t replay games let alone JRPGs but once I got my hands on a copy of Persona 5 Royal, I haven’t been able to stray away. Revisiting this game during this lockdown feels nostalgic and comforting. I’m playing it a bit different this time. I switched over to the Japanese audio track and pursuing different confidants this time around. I’m also trying different activities and traits like the batting cage. I don’t know how long I will stick with it considering the pending arrival of Final Fantasy VII: Remake though. However, I do have every intention to eventually complete it.
Blizzard continues to support Overwatch with free post-release content including new characters. Echo is the latest addition. She’s a bunch of fun but I haven’t had the opportunity to play as her in a real match and not free for all. I’ve been playing Overwatch on-and-off since 2016 and while it hasn’t always been the most compelling content, I am content with Blizzard’s output overall.
It’s finally happening. Final Fantasy VII Remake (Part 1 of 3) will be making its way to PlayStation 4 owners. I pre-ordered this back in 2015 and it’s finally seeing the light of day during this 2020 lockdown. It’s never been a better time to dive into a hefty JRPG.
A new Half-Life game is upon us and the only way to experience Half-Life: Alyx is through the use of a PC virtual reality headset. I don’t have a PC headset and I don’t see myself getting one any time soon. In all honesty, I believe the only way that I will ever experience Half-Life: Alyx is through a PlayStation 5 port through PSVR or something along those lines.

Doom Eternal sounds like it’s a pretty good game but I also have concerns after hearing/reading some impressions. Some fans of Doom 2016 are claiming the sequel is needlessly complicated and muddled by the new additions. I was content with what as on offer with Doom 2016 and didn’t feel the need for more skill trees or movement options. I’m still optimistic for the game but it’s a cautious optimism now. As to when I’ll be playing it? Likely on the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X.
Doom Eternal or Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Well, one game can be played today without the promise of superior and cheaper version later this year. The other? It’s a brand new Animal Crossing title. If you need one game to help move the days forward, it’s definitely this.
