Street Fighter V was a disappointment back in 2016. I appreciated Street Fighter’s single player content in the past and I was hoping for better in SFV. Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max’s World Tour was a blast! I also tried to take the competitive multiplayer seriously but I couldn’t commit to a game that did not feel the same offline and online. I’ve heard the online performance has gotten better but if I were to pick up Street Fighter V Champion Edition, it would be to just mess around with the latest iteration on the cheap.

I liked Vanquish. I remember loving the stylish action but I don’t recall much about the game itself, if I’m being honest. It’s been nearly 10 years which means a 4K60 remaster is in order. I think I’ll pick this up once it goes on sale. Bayonetta and Vanquish comes in a 10th Anniversary double-pack but I recently replayed Bayonetta when it was included with Bayonetta 2 for the Wii U. Vanquish though? I haven’t played that since 2010.

Florence was a very sweet interactive story on iOS. My fiancee and I enjoyed it on my iPad already but I’m glad to see it come to more platforms. It isn’t very long — most will be able to finish in a single sitting — but it’s worthwhile on the cheap.

Kentucky Route Zero looks so stylish. I just want to play it for style alone. I heard it was good but I have no idea if it’s my kind of game. People I respect seem to enjoy it which has me interested but I don’t know if I can put this ahead of bangers like Return of the Obra Dinn.

In hindsight, WarCraft II was my favorite WarCraft game. However, WarCraft III would be second. The hero stuff was interesting but the game as a whole shifted away from base building that was unexpected at the time. I liked their shift towards characters for the sake of a more interesting narrative but I didn’t find the shift towards character abilities to be my preference.

I hope Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is solid. It doesn’t need to be the greatest thing since sliced bread; all it needs to be is a solid game for fans of the series.

This game reminds me that I still need to finish watching Dragon Ball Z Kai. My brother and I were watching the Buu saga before we got busy.

A port of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is heading over to the Nintendo Switch. I would be happy about it but I own an unopened copy of the Wii U version. I went out of my way to buy it thinking it wouldn’t appear on any other console and be relegated to the niche gem. I guess I was proven wrong by Atlus and now a wider audience can enjoy it.

Disco Elysium has its passionate fans and many games people whom I respect speak highly of it but I don’t have the desire to check it out. Maybe when it’s dirt cheap? Some have said it’s the game The Outer Worlds tried to be when it came down to player choice but I just don’t have the desire to delve deep into a exposition heavy game at the moment.

A bunch of poos chasing a green cube wearing a hat. That’s a certainly a game made by the Katamari Damacy creator, Keita Takahashi. I didn’t play any of his games since Katamari Damacy but I kept tabs on his output since that smash hit. I haven’t seen anything of his that tickled my fancy like Katamari.

Happy holidays! I spent a number of Christmas breaks playing PC games like MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat and its expansions, Ghost Bear’s Legacy and Mercenaries. Those were good times! And now with MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, I have the opportunity to create new memories with a brand new mech simulator. It looks like a fine installment in the MechWarrior franchise but there’s something about it that doesn’t sit right with me. They seemed to have nailed the mech sim part but everything else seems lacklustre.
